Family and NATURE, THE STORY OF CLOS PACHEM
Clos Pachem is a winery located in the centre of Gratallops, the heart of the DOQ Priorat. Michel Grupper named the young winery, established in 2015, after his children Paul, Charles, and Emma. Pachem is dedicated to crafting the highest quality wines from old vines on famous Llicorella slate soils with maximum respect for nature and the people who work the land.
Regenerative agriculture is practised, and only native varieties are planted. Maturation is almost entirely in ceramic jars, producing a lighter and fresher expression of Priorat. In their words, “Why would we work so hard in the vineyard all year, and mask our efforts with oak?”. These are fantastic wines emphasising the change of style in Priorat since the 2000s.
