Cantine Zeni 1870

Italy

An historical winery sitting in the morainic hills of Bardolino

Since 1870, 150 years in 2020, the family has dedicated themselves to producing some of the finest and crafted wines in Verona.

Today, the 5th generation, represented by Fausto, Elena and Federica drives with dedication and passion two main locations with estate-owned vineyards. The main one is in the heart of Bardolino and the second one in Fumane, Valpolicella Classica area, where the “appassimento” process for the Amarone takes place as well as the technical area of vinification for the great Valpolicella wines.

The Wine Museum, with more than 100,000 visitors a year, is a private collection realized by the founder and father, Gaetano Zeni and maintained alive by his sons, as a tribute to the heritage of the ancient winemaking culture.

One of the most important aspects of the winery today, it is spreading the wine culture, not just under a technical point of view by tasting and describing the wines and the territory, but also with the possibility by amateur and professionals, to “touch with hand” the origin of the DOC and DOCG which today are famous all over the world.

The vine-growing land of Bardolino embraces the eastern shore of Lake Garda until the morainic hills of the hinterland where the landscape is dominated by vineyards and olive trees. Bardolino, the second DOCG born in Italy, is the most important reflection of our tradition, with a wide range of rosè and red version of this wine.

The Valpolicella area (North of Verona) has limestone-marly and basaltic sediments where we grow our most representative grapes varieties: Corvina, Corvina grossa/Corvinone, Rondinella, Molinara and Oseleta.

The great thing about having a history is keep writing its future.
